The National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) is sponsored by the U. S department of state. It offers full merit-based scholarships to for year and summer programs to countries in which the language is less commonly taught.
The main intention of NSLI-Y is to promote cultural connections and knowledge, prepare students to be leaders, and provide opportunities that will promote a life long interest in language.
